The Sandra and Leon Levine Jewish Community Center is a non-profit, social service agency founded upon Jewish ethics and values. The Center provides and initiates diversified social, educational, recreational and cultural programs within a Jewish setting. The JCC is a partner in serving the community, is affiliated with the JCC Association of North America and a beneficiary agency of the Jewish Federation of Greater Charlotte.
Qualifications/Attributes:
- Basic Knowledge of Cameras: Familiarity with various types of cameras and photographic equipment. Understanding of photographic techniques and settings (e.g., aperture, shutter speed, ISO).
- Passion for Working with Kids: Enjoys engaging with children of all ages, capturing their camp experiences through photography. Must possess patience, creativity, and a child-friendly demeanor.
- Outgoing Personality: Ability to interact positively with camp staff, children, and parents. Must be approachable, enthusiastic, and capable of maintaining high energy levels throughout the day.
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Camp Photographer is responsible for taking quality photos of Campers enjoying activities and uploading photos to Website.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Under the supervision of the Camp Katan Unit Director and Digital Media and Technology Specialist, Camp Photographer are responsible for telling the story of the Camper’s day through photos. Daily Photography Tasks: Responsible for taking high-quality photographs of camp activities, including individual and group shots, to capture the essence of the camp experience.
- Photo Editing Skills: Proficiency in photo editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom) for basic photo adjustments to ensure the best quality of final images.
- Efficient Workflow Management: Capable of organizing and managing a large number of images daily. Must be able to select, edit, and prepare photos for timely posting.
- Collaboration and Feedback: Works closely with the camp staff to highlight specific activities or themes. Open to feedback from staff and parents to improve photo quality and selection.
- Flexibility and Adaptability: Ability to work in various outdoor and indoor settings under different lighting conditions. Must be prepared to adjust to the dynamic camp schedule and activities.
- Commitment to Privacy and Sensitivity: Understands the importance of privacy and is sensitive to the needs of campers and staff. Adheres to camp policies regarding the sharing and distribution of photographs.
