The Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems.
About the position:
This employee is assigned to the Radio Programming Unit. The employee performs a range of radio communications technician assignments and receives close supervision from lead workers/manager. The function of this position is to understand customer programming requests and to complete basic radio programming functions on all models/software of radios accepted for use on the MPSCS. This position will need to have full functional knowledge and be able to demonstrate such with the MPSCS Radio Management and EAM platforms. The technician needs to have specific knowledge of digital communication standards and understanding principles of P25 trunked Radio Systems. Position also requires knowledge of computer operating systems such as Microsoft Office Suite and to gain proficiency with programming software from Kenwood, L3 Harris, Motorola, and ICOM to provide support for programming efforts. Technician will also need to be able to demonstrate correct utilization of internal systems and quality control measures.

Education
Possession of an associate's degree in electronic technology.
Experience
Three years of experience equivalent to a Radio/Communications Technician, including one year equivalent to a Radio/Communications Technician E10.
