How you will make an impact:
- Working in a discreet environment handling sensitive information daily.
- Assists in collecting and organizing information required for the preparation of documents, training materials, guides, proposals, and reports duties with special attention to detail, being organized, and multi-tasking.
- Interacting with our ongoing customers, team members/Leads, and employees via phone, Skype, and email.
- Handling and receiving incoming and outgoing correspondence.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to write, review, and edit all technical documents for external distribution.
As a Journeyman Technical Writer, your day-to-day duties will include:
- Providing technical edits to engineering documentation, software documentation, manuals, reports, or any other documents or presentations.
- Reviewing and editing all documents from technical team members and other contributors for content, organization, accuracy, grammar, consistency, literary quality, and format in accordance with U.S. Cyber Command regulations and professional standards.
- Utilizing critical thinking when reading through large quantities of documents, training materials, guides, proposals, and reports.
- Employing strong writing, editing, and communication skills to analyze and present complex information in a format that is easy to read and understand.
- Possessing a thorough understanding of the scientific and technical subject matter, documentation content, and requirements.
- Recommending and developing diagrams, charts, and graphs that will help increase the user’s understanding.
- Exploring a broad range of resources including library research, interviews with subject-matter experts, and team meetings to obtain, analyze, and verify information, managing records and files.
- Providing technical writing and editing assistance across Planning, Programs, and other U.S. Cyber Command divisions to improve overall quality and consistency of deliverable products.
Your qualifications must be:
- The position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph.
- The position requires 5 years of experience as a Technical Writer.
- The position requires a bachelor’s degree at a minimum or higher from an accredited college or university in English, Business, or related discipline.
- The work schedule is a standard schedule with core hours of 7:30am – 4:30pm (M-F).
- The position requires a strong attention to detail and organizational skills with excellent writing skills.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
- Able to perform duties with minimal supervision and some team interaction.
- This position is on the client site (Fort Meade, MD). Remote or telework is not permissible.
Salary ranges for this position will be disclosed and discussed during the candidate interviews prior to the Company extending a potential Contingency Offer for the position.
