Tommy John is a comfort-focused lifestyle brand committed to solving the problem people have with their clothing. Most well-known for reimagining the fabric, fit, and function of underwear and undershirts, Tommy John has spent the past decade making the online and in-store shopping experience more comfortable. We are constantly on a mission to add smart, innovative and fun-loving team members and are looking for a NYC area based Freelance Graphic Designer to support our Creative Team. We are expecting the workload to be in the 20 to 25 hours per week range.
Reporting to the Senior Art Director, the Freelance Graphic Designer will collaborate closely with E-commerce, Retail, Wholesale, Marketing, Merchandise, and Design teams to deliver compelling digital brand experiences. This role requires a refined aesthetic and versatility across mediums to drive projects from concept to completion, all while ensuring alignment with Tommy John's vision.
Responsibilities:
- Create visually engaging brand experiences across all digital customer touchpoints, ensuring a cohesive look and feel for Tommy John’s online presence
- Design and develop digital assets such as website graphics, paid social video content, and motion design elements
- Collaborate closely with the Creative Operations team to manage timelines, project priorities, and workload distribution
- Utilize strong eye and creative taste to ensure all creative work aligns with the brand’s premium design ethos
Experience, Skills, & Attributes:
- 2-5 years of experience in a graphic design role preferred; experience at a similar DTC/E-Commerce Apparel brand (either freelance or in-house) is a must have
- Demonstrates alignment with TJ core values: Humble, Adaptable, Mindful, GSD, & Curious
- High level of proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
- Strong portfolio showcasing digital design work, particularly in website graphics, paid social video, and motion design at similar fashion/CPG brands
- Ability to conceptualize, storyboard, and execute motion graphics that enhance brand storytelling
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time-management skills
- A deep understanding of omni-channel marketing and customer experience
- Collaborative spirit with the ability to work cross-functionally and lead projects independently
- Strong preference for someone who can be in our downtown NYC office to meet and collaborate with cross functional teams
