Job Description
HII is seeking an experienced
Technical Writer/Editor 2
to join United States Air Force Joint Mission Assurance Assessment (JMAA) teams in the Ft. Meade area. These teams perform Mission Assurance Assessment (MAA) missions integrating Mission Assurance-related programs and activities into a comprehensive, standardized, risk management assessment that assesses probabilistic risk to assets, systems, and essential capabilities. Team members support the three phases of Mission Assurance Assessments including the Pre-Assessment Phase (mission analysis and pre-site survey); the Assessment Phase (vulnerability/risk assessment); and the Post-Assessment Phase (post analysis and reporting). Support to these phases is in accordance with DoD Instruction 3020.45 (Mission Assurance Construct) and CJCSI 3209.01A Mission Assurance Construct Implementation.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Responsible for reviewing, editing, and formatting products produced by the MAA Team to include in/out briefs, formatting/finalized AF MAA Reports, reviewing, formatting, and finalizing MAA COAs for presentation to MACB, background papers, memorandums, and other such documents related to the four phases of the Mission Assurance Construct. Ensuring accurate and professional products are released/uploaded intro the appropriate DOD and AF MA systems of record in the required timeline. Reviewing, Editing, and Formatting: Products Produced by the MAA Team:
You will be responsible for looking over, making necessary changes, and organizing various documents created by the Mission Assurance Assessment (MAA) Team. In/Out Briefs:
These are presentations given at the start (in-brief) and conclusion (out-brief) of a mission or project. AF MAA Reports:
Reports specifically related to the Air Force's Mission Assurance Assessment. MAA COAs:
Courses of Action (COAs) prepared by the MAA Team, which will be presented to the Mission Assurance Coordination Board (MACB). Background Papers, Memorandums, and Other Documents:
Various written documents related to the different phases of the Mission Assurance Construct.
Ensuring Accurate and Professional Products: Releasing/Uploading Products:
Ensuring that all reviewed and edited documents are accurately and professionally prepared for release or upload. DoD and AF MA Systems of Record:
The official systems used by the Department of Defense (DoD) and Air Force (AF) for recording and storing mission assurance-related documents. Required Timeline:
Making sure all products are released or uploaded within the specified time frame.
Minimum Qualifications
3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience. Must possess an
active Top Secret/SCI
clearance at the time of application and be eligible for a Full Scope Polygraph. Background in technical writing and editing. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Preferred Requirements
Strong attention to detail. 3-5 years of experience in defense technical writing. Top Secret/SCI with FS Poly Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, and move around for extended periods. Capability to work at a computer for long hours.
