ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:
The Graphic Designer will contribute to the creation, production, and layout of promotional materials, displays, documents, and signs using modern design techniques. Additionally, this role will manage the inventory of creative assets, including images, logos, maps, and design files.

MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create graphic layouts and design concepts using standard design software and techniques.
  • Provide creative content for advertising campaign materials, resizing and altering designs for various advertising placements. 
  • Develop designs that align with brand guidelines, government directives and campaigns.
  • Prepare material for printing, proofs, and assembling all camera-ready components.
  • Maintain contact with signage companies, printers and photographers.
  • Identify signage that needs to be removed or replaced and collaborate with the Facilities Department on the production, removal, and installation.
  • Work with cross-department teams on projects, providing realistic timelines for design work and estimating production timelines.
  • Monitor and record project progress, steps, and issues in a spreadsheet for efficient time management and workflow oversight.
  • Collaborate with other graphic designers within government agencies or transportation providers
  • Find software solutions or processes to improve file management and workflow.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • College Diploma in Graphic Design, Multimedia or Arts. (General or fine arts)
  • A portfolio showcasing a range of design skills, including both digital and print work is required.
  • 2-3 years of experience producing professional graphic design
  • 3-5 years’ preferred experience working with a diverse creative team (agency, signage or printing company) 
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator, Lightroom) 
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and Drupal or similar web design tools is an asset
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft 365 applications (Word and PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of printing techniques, layouts, processes, paper stock and finishing options.
  • Basic familiarity with UI/UX design, Animation (After Effects) is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and proficiency in adapting to new software tools and technologies.
  • Skilled in fostering positive customer interactions and leveraging feedback to enhance satisfaction.
  • Valid driver's license with ability to travel up to 25%
