Job Description:The RoleFidelity Investments is looking for a hands-on User Experience Director who is passionate about their craft and making investing approachable for all audiences. The organization deeply values design.The Expertise and Skills You Bring10-15+ years of UX or related experience is preferredA degree in a related field such as interactive design, architecture, industrial design, graphic design, or human factors is preferredProvide design and product thought leadership, identifying and developing strategic design opportunities to drive business and product strategy, creating artifacts to align stakeholders and teamsWork across and collaborate with product, engineering, UX research, and others to develop and prototype product visionLead definition of the design work and deliver business outcomes across multiple product teams, with minimal guidance and coachingDistilling qualitative and quantitative feedback to unearth recurring themes and promote data-driven design decisionsAn array of design skills including service design and strategic design methods. Information architecture, prototyping, user research, and visual design will also be criticalEffective communication as a writer, presenter, and facilitator; equally at ease speaking with developer partners or executivesExperience working on agile teams delivering value in digital products preferredExperience running and/or using research to support evidence-focused design decisions preferredA digital portfolio we can review online is requiredAbility to design across all channels including web, native, and automatedA foundation of development knowledge, both web and mobileFamiliarity with the value of design systems, understanding reuse and scale, and knowing when to contribute to make them betterPartnering with user research to understand the customer problems to tackleAn unwavering curiosity to ask whyDesign brings you happinessWork across the organization to drive consistent associate-facing experiencesContribute to the culture of the UXD groupCoach and mentor junior designers across the groupThe TeamThis role supports Fidelity Brokerage, a group that helps a wide array of customers with services like wealth management, retirement planning, brokerage services, workplace plan administration, college savings, and financial planning and engagement programs, as well as our customer-facing associates. This role also supports Fidelity’s User Experience Design team, a group that delivers simple and accessible digital experiences to its customers.Work Environment:Fidelity’s hybrid working model blends the best of both onsite and offsite work experiences. Working onsite is important for our business strategy and our culture. We also value the benefits that working offsite offers associates. Most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office.
