About Person-to-Person Established in 1968, Person-to-Person (“P2P” – www.p2phelps.org) P2P is a community-supported agency that provides assistance to individuals and families as they move toward economic stability. The vision that guides P2P’s work is “educated, financially stable and hunger-free homes for all.” With a financial budget of approximately $5MM, an additional $10MM in annual “in-kind” donations, and over 75,000 volunteer hours donated annually, P2P is a well-established and innovative agency. More than 90% of all donations go directly to programs, which include three food pantries including a mobile food pantry ( P2P on Wheels ), a clothing center, a Financial Opportunity Center™ and counseling for a client’s situational crisis, summer camperships for children, and college and vocational scholarship aid to students seeking to change the trajectory of the next generation. Position Summary The Marketing and Communications Officer supports P2P’s mission by managing the organization’s image driving outreach and constituent engagement through a comprehensive, multi-faceted strategic communications program encompassing marketing, social and earned media, public relations, and development. This is a senior position reporting to the Chief Philanthropy Officer, and working closely with the CEO, the Marketing and Communications Officer will drive strategic communications that consistently and effectively promote P2P and its mission. They will collaborate with development, volunteer, and site staff in supporting the organization. Success in this position requires the ability to assess both the organization and the broader community landscape to strategically position P2P. The ideal candidate will bring exceptional communications, writing, and storytelling skills, creativity, strategic and critical thinking, strong organizational and cross-functional collaboration skills. Duties, Requirements & Qualifications Duties: Develop & Execute Communications Strategy – Lead a comprehensive communications program that engages P2P stakeholders, enhances the organization’s visibility, and supports fundraising and programmatic initiatives. Content Creation and Management – Craft compelling content for digital and print platforms, including the website, social media, email campaigns, press materials, presentation decks, and paid content. Brand & Messaging Consistency – Maintain brand standards and ensure clear, consistent, creative & engaging messaging that expands awareness of and reinforces P2P’s mission, values, and reputation. Public & Media Relations – Secure publicity, cultivate media relationships, and identify opportunities to expand P2P’s presence. Design & Production – Develop marketing and collateral materials including newsletters, appeals, event signage, the annual report, and other print and digital assets. Data-Driven Approach – Utilize analytics to refine communication strategies and optimize engagement. Collaboration & Alignment – Work closely with the CPO and CEO to ensure communications efforts align with organizational priorities and fundraising goals. Requirements & Qualifications: Minimum of 3 - 5 years of communications experience, nonprofit experience a plus but

not

required; Commitment to the Mission and Vision of P2P and to the community being served; Ability to prioritize and openly champion diversity, equity and inclusivity in all aspects of P2P’s communications and operations; Organized, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced atmosphere; Proactive approach to problem solving with strong decision-making skills; High ethical standards, comfort dealing with confidential information; Comfort with mastering new technologies; knowledge of Salesforce and Pardot a plus; Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends; Excellent communication skills, both oral and written; Working knowledge of CRM and content-based platforms such as Constant Contact, and Salesforce English language proficiency; additional languages not required, but a plus; Possess warmth, sense of humor, honesty and compassion; Person-to-Person offers competitive compensation, excellent benefits, generous paid time off, and a supportive workplace culture. The salary range for this position is $65,000 – $80,000 per year, based on experience. Benefits include health, dental, vision, 403(b) retirement, life and disability insurance, FSA, and supplemental insurance. This position is eligible to work up to one day per week remotely.
