Position Overview: The Marketing & Communications Manager will drive a cohesive marketing strategy and ensure brand consistency across platforms. This role involves strategic planning, content creation, and collaboration to support engagement and advance our mission. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Marketing & Communication Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy that aligns with our mission, values, and business objectives. Ensure consistent messaging across all platforms and projects, working collaboratively with teams to ensure on-brand communication. Regularly review and refresh brand assets, acting as a brand guardian, overseeing visual assets for a cohesive look across all channels. Copywriting Write and edit content for emails, newsletters, presentations, website copy, decks, and press releases. Maintain a consistent brand voice and content calendar, delivering engaging and relevant material. Oversee all written and visual content to ensure quality and alignment with brand standards. Manage and regularly update website content to keep it fresh and relevant. Collaboration & Project Management Art Direction: Partner with designers to produce on-brand visuals and marketing assets. Manage project timelines, feedback, and approvals to keep initiatives on track. Act as a key liaison between marketing, design, and other JBN departments to ensure smooth project execution. Develop and maintain a communications calendar to ensure emails and other communications are effective, relevant, and on the correct cadence and volume. Event Support Manage communications for events like conferences, webinars, and community outreach. Develop event materials, press releases, and other collateral to promote the brand effectively. Support communication efforts with stakeholders (e.g., donors, partners, community members) and produce necessary reports. Develop and execute email campaigns, tracking performance and using data to refine strategies for improved open and click-through rates. Market Research & Competitive Analysis Conduct market research to stay updated on trends, competitor strategies, and customer preferences. Use insights to refine marketing strategies, ensuring our brand remains competitive and relevant. Oversee the marketing calendar to ensure the timely execution of all activities and a steady flow of brand and communication initiatives.

Qualifications:

Experience & Skills Marketing & Brand Strategy: 5+ years in marketing and communications, with a proven record in brand strategy, messaging, and content development. Nonprofit experience is a plus. Content Creation: Exceptional writing/editing skills, with a portfolio covering various formats (emails, web, press releases) and the ability to maintain a consistent brand voice. Digital Marketing: Proficient in email marketing, automation tools (e.g., Mailchimp, HubSpot), and analytics to optimize campaigns. Project Management: Skilled in managing multiple projects, timelines, and team approvals. Event Marketing: Experienced in developing communication for events, including community and donor engagement. Research: Proficient in market research and competitor analysis to inform strategy. Education Degree: Bachelor's in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred. Personal Qualities Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills to work closely with designers, stakeholders, and departments. Detail-Oriented: Skilled in maintaining brand standards and timely project delivery. Adaptable & Proactive: Able to adjust strategies based on data, keeping the brand relevant.
