Base pay range

$250,000.00/yr - $350,000.00/yr

Our client, an expanding apparel brand, is seeking a dynamic Creative Director – Licensing to lead the creative vision and execution of their licensed clothing lines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the overall creative direction for licensed apparel, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and business goals.
  • Oversee the design process from concept to production, ensuring products meet licensor approvals and consumer trends.
  • Work closely with licensors, design, merchandising, and sales teams to deliver high-quality collections that drive retail success.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscapes to inform product development and innovation.
  • Serve as the key creative liaison with licensors, ensuring smooth approval processes and maintaining strong partnerships.
  • Provide leadership, feedback, and guidance to the design team, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence.
  • Ensure consistency in brand messaging across product, packaging, and marketing materials.
  • Develop compelling product presentations for buyers and retail partners to drive sell-in and brand visibility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in creative leadership within children’s apparel, with a strong background in licensed products.
  • Expertise in character-driven and trend-driven apparel design.
  • Strong knowledge of retail, consumer preferences, and licensing agreements.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience pitching concepts to licensors and retail partners.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and other relevant design tools.
  • Strong leadership and team management experience, with the ability to inspire and guide a creative team.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines and business objectives.
  • Ability to work full-time on site.
