Job Overview: The temporary Digital Marketing Specialist will manage social media content, digital marketing, and online engagement in support of racial justice initiatives. This role involves creating and scheduling content across multiple platforms, monitoring performance metrics, and collaborating with teams to amplify the organization’s mission. Responsibilities of the Digital Marketing Specialist:
Implement comprehensive and strategic digital engagement, social media marketing, and engagement programs across all digital channels, from paid advertising to social media to web and digital design, to serve the organization’s mission and help achieve the goals in our strategic plan. Serve as the daily steward of the organization’s social media profiles, including but not limited to Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube, and monitor the performance of posts to ensure best practices are being maintained. Work across project teams to educate team leaders and members on digital engagement best practices. Monitor social media for what is “trending” and provide proactive and reactive ideas for response to the social conversation for the Director of Digital Communications. Develop organic content and execute social media posts across all platforms, ensuring that all geotags, captions, and necessary hashtags are included. Work collaboratively across organizational departments to create and nurture a unique voice and identity for the Lawyers’ Committee on social media in a way that aligns with strategic priorities, ensuring a more cohesive brand identity and a steady stream of engaging content to dramatically increase our social media base, engagement, and reach. Requirements of the Digital Marketing Specialist:
Demonstrated commitment to racial justice and racial equity. A minimum of 5 years developing and measuring social media content for a non-profit required. Experience with developing and supporting organizational social media campaigns. Demonstrated record of creative thinking to reach new audiences. A demonstrated understanding of graphics, design, and video software (Photoshop and other video creation and editing platforms). Solid experience and proven success using paid advertising, specifically in Facebook Ads Manager and Google AdWords. Excellent writing skills and strong communications experience with an ability to adeptly distill complex ideas into poignant social media-length language, develop digital marketing strategies, and take digital storytelling to the next level. Great attention to detail with a solid performance in producing materials under deadline and without errors. Proficiency in HTML and experience with WordPress or a similar content management system. The ability to develop and manage productive relationships with staff members across departments and at varying levels of management and frontline staff. Ability to work productively as part of a team and individually as well as with a wide array of people throughout the organization. Compensation: $25-30/hour (temp) Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid)
