Salary: $80,000 - $92,000

The proposal writer is responsible for supporting all phases of the proposal process including developing, writing, and editing proposals to secure new business opportunities. This role requires the ability to translate technical information into compelling narratives. A successful proposal writer has a deep understanding of tolling systems and mobility solutions. While this experience is not required, it is advantageous.

This position typically works under general supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Understand RFPs/RFQs: Analyze and interpret request for proposals (RFPs), request for quotations (RFQs), and other solicitation documents.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with subject matter experts, project managers, and the sales team to acquire technical content
  • Write Proposals: Work with SMEs to develop and write clear, persuasive, and well-structured proposals that address client needs and highlight the companys strengths; write proposal pieces such as Company Introduction, Past Performances, Bios/Resumes.
  • Edit and Revise: Rewrite and review proposal sections and related proposal documents. Research, write, and organize information in a professional and credible manner; revise proposals based on feedback from internal stakeholders and SMEs
  • Manage Content Library: Actively maintain a library of proposal content for future use.
  • Meet Deadlines: Ensure all proposals are completed and submitted on time.
  • Incorporate Visuals: Coordinate with graphic designers to include necessary visuals in proposals. Incorporate all information into a presentable, professional, and competitive proposal/ presentation
  • Stay Updated: Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in tolling and mobility services.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Education: Bachelors degree in English, Communications, Business, or a mobility-related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in proposal writing, preferably in the tolling or mobility services industry. Experience in the development of response narrative for winning tolling-related proposals.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
    • Clear communicator/writer
    • Ability to take direction and change direction fluidly
    • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and proposal management software.
    • Strong research and analytical skills.
    • Ability to work on multiple deadline driven projects simultaneously
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with different aspects of tolling systems, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), or mobility solutions.
  • Familiarity with State and Local government agency procurement processes.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position may require occasional travel to support customer presentations or for internal activities. Flexible working hours may be necessary to meet proposal deadlines. Work is performed indoors, typically in an air-conditioned building. Moderate noise level due to light traffic, computers, printers, fax/copy machines.
