About White Cube

White Cube was set up by Jay Jopling in 1993 as a project room for contemporary art. The gallery has since grown into one of the most influential commercial galleries in the world, representing internationally renowned artists such as Georg Baselitz, Tracey Emin, Antony Gormley, Mona Hatoum, Anselm Kiefer, Liu Wei, Park Seo Bo, Doris Salcedo and Jeff Wall. White Cube’s exhibition programme extends across locations in London, Hong Kong, Paris, New York, Seoul and online.

Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled Fine Art Videographer to join our photography team. As Fine Art Videographer, you will be responsible for capturing and producing captivating video content of artworks and small-scale video productions for the gallery. Your expertise in utilising a gimbal, proficiency in video software, and expert knowledge of colour management will be vital to success.

  1. Adhere to White Cube’s global style guide and utilise your technical expertise and creative vision to film fine art, ensuring exceptional video quality.
  2. Edit video content to create client offer films for private offer and online presentations.
  3. Film & edit London and Paris gallery exhibition walkthroughs providing deliverables for online use and sales collateral.
  4. Liaise with editor/producer to ensure briefs are met.
  5. Collaborate closely with Digital and Communications teams for project-based work and day-to-day edits.
  6. Manage colour grading and correction during the editing process, ensuring consistent representation of the artwork.
  7. Work collaboratively with the wider creative teams to meet project deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and maintain attention to detail.
  8. Maintain and troubleshoot dedicated video equipment ensuring it is in optimal condition.
  9. Film ad-hoc in-house productions; artist or curator tours, social media clips, artist interviews.
  10. Hone existing workflows and recommend improvements.
  11. Ensure good practice with file management & archiving in line with gallery standards.
  12. Perform ad-hoc tasks as directed by line manager.

Skills and experience

Essential

  1. Technical Proficiency: Mastery of Sony cinema line cameras, specifically FX3.
  2. Lighting: Knowledge of studio and gallery lighting for balanced footage.
  3. Sound Recording: Experience with audio equipment and techniques to capture high-quality sound.
  4. Editing Software: Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Da Vinci).
  5. Visual Composition: Ability to frame shots effectively.
  6. Narrative Development: Understanding how to craft a compelling story.
  7. Concept Development: Experience in brainstorming and developing creative concepts.
  8. Scriptwriting/Storyboarding: Ability to create a script or storyboard.
  9. Video Editing: Proficiency in assembling footage and creating a polished final product.
  10. Colour Correction/Grading: Understanding of colour management.
  11. Sound Mixing/Design: Experience in balancing audio levels and adding music.
  12. General: Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Fine Art or luxury product videography.

Desired but not essential:

  1. A degree in a relevant field.
  2. Stills photography knowledge and experience.
