The Opportunity

  • Location: Lambeth London
  • Commitment: Full-time
  • Salary: £600–£625 per week (dependent on experience and qualifications)
  • Impact: Help children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs express themselves, build confidence, and achieve their potential.

About the Role
This exciting position offers the chance to work in a forward-thinking school that champions therapeutic approaches to education. As an Art & Music Therapist, you’ll join a team dedicated to creating a supportive space where children can explore their creativity, overcome challenges, and thrive emotionally and academically.

You will:

  • Deliver engaging one-to-one and group therapy sessions using art and music as transformative tools for self-expression and healing.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create personalised therapeutic plans tailored to each child’s unique needs.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions for staff and families to embed therapeutic practices across the school community.
  • Offer immediate, in-the-moment therapeutic support to children, fostering a culture of emotional safety and understanding.
  • Play an integral role in creating a vibrant, inclusive environment where creativity and emotional well-being are celebrated.

We’re Looking For:

  • Outstanding creativity and a passion for using the arts to support emotional and mental well-being.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with children, families, and colleagues.
  • A reflective mindset and a drive to continually grow and develop professionally.
  • Resilience, adaptability, and an ability to work with children presenting challenging behaviours and complex SEMH needs.
  • A strong understanding of child development, trauma, and the impact of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs).
