We are presently searching for a Designer for our Seattle studio. The Designer, working under general supervision of a Senior Designer or Project Manager, provides design support primarily in project administration, presentations, concept design through design development, and contract documents.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  1. Works with team to develop design ideas and create both presentation and construction drawings
  2. Drafts technical drawings
  3. Provides review of engineering and landscape drawings to ensure they comply with design solution
  4. Ensures integration into overall design
  5. Preliminary concept plans for larger projects
  6. May develop and finalize conceptual design for smaller projects
  7. Oversees Intermediate Designer to review space plans and tackles more complicated issues
  8. Provides detail for interior and architectural design projects
  9. Develops and delivers overall design and furniture packages for both interior and exterior
  10. Assists in developing packages for larger projects
  11. Obtains cost estimates and produces final cost estimates
  12. Manages design budget for assigned projects
  13. May mentor the work of Junior and Intermediate Designers

Qualifications:

  1. Graduate of architecture or design school; equivalent experience may be substituted
  2. 6+ years’ experience in workplace design, focusing on building repositioning and adaptive re-use projects as well as corporate interior

  1. Advanced presentation skills
  2. Advanced knowledge of space planning
  3. Extensive knowledge of furnishings and finishes
  4. Extensive knowledge of concepts of furniture layout
  5. Advanced sketching and rendering skills
  6. Advanced architecture detailing skills
  7. Extensive knowledge of CDs and procedures
  8. Extensive knowledge of building systems, codes and ADA requirements
  9. Working knowledge of path of travel requirements
  10. Working knowledge of contract administration
  11. Intermediate MS Office Suite skills
  12. Advanced Revit skills
  13. Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills
