Position Summary Information

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is seeking applicants interested in joining the speech-language pathology faculty. Responsibilities include undergraduate and/or graduate teaching; clinical supervision; mentoring and advising students; engagement in service at the University, College, and Departmental levels; and pursuit of creative and scholarly work, with an emphasis on community engagement and student involvement. Summer teaching is strongly encouraged.

The Nazareth CSD Department comprises undergraduate and graduate programs, with specialties in autism, deafness, early intervention, and medical speech-language pathology. Graduate students can also earn the New York State Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TSSLD) certificate and Bilingual Education (Spanish) extension. The department has 220+ students (88 graduate students) and 13 FT faculty. Interprofessional collaboration and education are hallmarks of Nazareth University. Our on-campus clinics are located in the York Wellness and Rehabilitation Institute, which houses various therapy clinics, including our Speech and Language Clinic, Neurogenic Communication and Cognition Clinic, and Audiology Clinic.

Essential Functions

Required Education, Experience, Technology and Skills

Ph.D. or Ed.D. (ABD considered) in communication sciences and disorders or related fields.

Preferred Education, Experience, Technology Applications and Skills

Eligibility for New York State licensure and ASHA CCC-SLP. This position is replacing a retiring faculty with expertise in adult language disorders, but all areas of specialization will be considered. Prior experience with teaching and/or supervision is highly valued.
