One of the largest Architecture & Engineering firms in the region is seeking a Studio Leader for their Education group. We are seeking an Architect capable of leading projects, teams, and client relationships. In this role, you will have the opportunity to mentor the next generation of Architects, leverage the reputation of the firm within the market, and lead the design development of high quality K-12 and Higher Education projects. Responsibilities
- Lead the collaborative culture within the studio
- Build and nurture client relationships to drive business development growth in Alabama and the Southeast
- Work with clients to understand their needs and create designs that fulfill their objectives
- Develop, produce, and manage project and construction documentation
- Lead relationships with contractors to communicate design intentions, resolve issues, and answer queries
- Work within and alongside multidisciplinary teams of both Architects and Engineers
- Be results-driven, capable of managing complex projects from inception to completion, and adept at finding solutions to technical challenges
- Research and apply federal, state, and local building codes, planning and zoning regulations, and standard design practices to projects; ensure projects meet health and safety standards
- Create project schedules and internal budgets to meet deadlines and profitability targets
- Maintain organized project files and documentation according to firm standards
- Guide and assign tasks to staff members
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or an adjacent professional field
- Architecture license required
- 8+ years of work experience as a Licensed Architect
- Strong understanding of building design including engineering practices
- Must be a strong communicator and experienced mentor to ensure staff development
- Self-starter mentality, team player, and strong cultivator of relationships with clients, team members, and consultants
- Must be willing to travel
