Turning Point Global Solutions LLC (TurningPoint) is seeking a Technical Writer with experience creating clear and comprehensive documentation for Information Technology (IT) projects. In this role, you will collaborate with technical teams to produce user guides, system documentation, process manuals, and more that support complex IT initiatives.
Location: TurningPoint headquarters in Rockville, MD with hybrid option.
What You’ll Do:
- Developing, editing, and maintaining technical documentation, including system guides, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and user manuals.
- Collaborating with IT project teams to gather information and translate technical concepts into easy-to-understand documentation.
- Ensuring documentation meets company standards for style, clarity, and completeness.
- Managing document repositories and version control (SVN).
- Participating in project meetings to capture technical requirements and updates.
- Developing FAQs, quick-start guides, and other end-user support materials.
- Proofreading and reviewing documents to ensure accuracy and consistency.
What We’re Looking For:
To thrive and excel in this role, candidates are expected to have:
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in English, or other relevant subject.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Technical Writer on IT projects.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
- Strong understanding of technical writing methodologies and documentation best practices.
- Experience using tools such as Microsoft Office, Confluence, and SVN (version control) for documentation creation and management.
- Excellent writing, graphics, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise documentation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with Agile project management methodologies.
- Knowledge of IT systems projects.
- Experience using diagramming tools such as Visio or Lucid chart.
- Familiarity with HTML or XML for web-based documentation.
- Knowledge of FISMA, FedRAMP, ISO, CMMI Standards is a plus.
- Experience working on government contracts deliverables is a plus.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $72,000 to $98,000. This range is a general guideline only as compensation decisions are based on relevant experience and educational qualifications.
