Job Title: UX Researcher

Job Description

  • Working for the Upstream division of the client, responsible for making multi-million dollar decisions.
  • Forming and communicating these decisions requires a team of talented scientists, engineers, and operators.
  • The role involves conducting generative and evaluative research to understand users' current state and identify opportunities.
  • The UX Designer/Researcher will work with project teams to define the value potential of an opportunity and develop potential solutions.
  • The role offers an opportunity to work with users across the globe and gain a deep understanding of the unique, scientific challenges of the Oil & Gas industry.

Qualifications

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Anthropology, Psychology, Human Factors, Information Science, or similar field.
  • Experience leading substantial qualitative and mixed methods research projects.
  • Understanding of various UX research methodologies.
  • Must have work samples demonstrating research process and methods.
  • Must be able to work onsite in Spring, TX.
  • 5+ years of experience.
  • Experience in Oil and Gas or other Engineering/Scientific domain is a plus.
  • Experience in Big Enterprise UX Experience Problems is a plus.

  • Collecting, storing, and stewarding qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Communicating, influencing, and collaborating with stakeholders and project teams.
  • Adapting and flexing to dynamic project needs and priorities.
  • Scoping problems and objectives that may not be clear to stakeholders and project teams.
  • Advocating and evangelizing to teams who are not yet familiar with UX design and research.
