We are currently seeking a Software Developer to join our Design Technology team. You will be responsible for working with internal teams to develop custom software applications and work on open-source projects managed by HOK.
Responsibilities
- Provides expertise and advisement in the development of software solutions for enterprise and project teams.
- Ensure that Building Information Modeling processes are effectively integrated into the firm's workflows. This includes developing plugins or scripts to enhance Revit's capabilities.
- Managing and analyzing data from Revit models to support decision-making and improve project outcomes. This can involve creating dashboards or reports that visualize key metrics.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting software-related issues, helping team members with software problems and ensuring that all tools are functioning correctly.
- Can be a resource to internal teams.
- Fosters a commitment to external and internal client service.
- Takes personal responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices.
Required Skills
- Experience with frontend web development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript/Typescript, React, Electron, or similar.
- Experience with backend and storage technologies like Node.JS, ASP.NET, SQL, MongoDB.
- Experience with programming/scripting languages such as C#, Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or C++.
- Knowledge of ElasticSearch is a plus.
- Ability to effectively meet and accommodate deadlines on multiple projects.
- Ability to work in a team environment; experience using Git in a collaborative manner is a plus.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and provide timely feedback and guidance to the Design Team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, architecture, engineering, or related field required.
- Experience with Azure DevOps or similar technologies.
- Minimum one-year specialist knowledge of software development for building architectural applications preferred.
- Experience working and coordinating with integrated teams.

Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, education, and location. The reasonably expected salary range for this position in various locations is as follows:
- Denver: $80,000 - $95,000
- Chicago: $80,000 - $95,000
- Seattle: $83,500 - $105,000
- New York: $90,000 - $110,000
- Los Angeles: $90,000 - $110,000
Other compensation may include a discretionary bonus.
