Job Overview
URGENT - We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Tutor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering academic growth and personal development in students. This role involves working closely with children and young adults to enhance their learning experiences through tailored tutoring sessions. The Tutor will be responsible for developing engaging lesson plans, utilizing learning technology, and adapting teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special education requirements.
Our Current URGENT need is for teaching CREATIVE WRITING in the SOUTH Houston area.
HOURS: Monday -Friday, 4-6pm. Consistant Promptness Required.
MUST be able to work AT School Site daily. School Site is SOUTH side of HOUSTON
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans that align with curriculum standards.
- Utilize various learning technologies to enhance the educational experience.
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions for students of varying ages and abilities.
- Assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
- Foster a supportive and encouraging learning environment that promotes student engagement.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other educational professionals to support student success.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with stakeholders.
- Stay updated on educational best practices and participate in professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
- Experience in curriculum development and lesson planning is preferred.
- Familiarity with learning technology tools that can enhance the tutoring process.
- Prior experience working with children or students in a classroom or tutoring setting is essential.
- Knowledge of special education practices is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students and parents.
- A genuine passion for educating and inspiring students to reach their full potential.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles, needs and grade levels.
- Teaching Certification is preferred, but not required with adequate experience.
- You MUST be able to pass an HISD Background Check.
