Job Summary:
As a Marketing Design Associate, you’ll be the creative engine driving our marketing efforts forward. This role is perfect for someone interested in cannabis with strong graphic design skills, a passion for retail marketing, and a knack for content creation. Fluency with the Adobe Create Suite is a must in this role. Our ideal candidate is creative, scrappy, passionate, and eager to contribute to visually shaping the Dockside brand as it evolves. You’ll report to and collaborate closely with the Marketing Manager in addition to our products team, retail staff, and external vendors, to develop creative graphics for our website, advertising campaigns, marketing collateral and 502-compliant content that resonates at the right moments in the customer journey. Your work will directly impact goals to increase brand awareness, drive store traffic, and create loyal customers.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Design promotional graphics for in-store screens, website banners, email newsletters, and text/push communications.
- Contribute design assets & copy for marketing collateral, campaigns, paid ads, earned/seeded media, and the Dockside Blog.
- Light website maintenance (no coding required)
- Product & lifestyle photography and video content (shooting & editing)
- Retail merchandising: signage creation for in-store promotions
- Contribute ideas & fresh perspectives to assist in developing the content calendar, campaign messaging, and customer outreach.
- Brand advocacy and industry compliance: keep standards high and consistent and compliant with all 502 advertising laws.
- Maintain organization of marketing assets.
- Utilize tools like Asana, Trello, Slack, and Google Workspace for efficient project tracking and communication.
Occasional responsibilities:
- Help plan events and outreach: classes, street teams, partnerships, and customer appreciation. (Willingness to produce, set up, represent the brand to the public, tear down)
- Assist with ordering and managing swag, branded collateral, and merch for events and street team
Bonus points for:
- Cannabis knowledge: competition, trends, influencers, brands, 502 regulations
- SEO knowledge
Job Requirements:
- Fluency with Adobe Creative Suite
- Ability to work 40/hrs a week with availability during core hours (10am-4pm)
- Flexible and available to work occasional evenings and weekends for events (with advance notice)
- Ability to work in-office a minimum of 3 days a week
- Ability to attend in-person meetings every other Tuesday & Thursday
- Access to a vehicle and active Drivers License
- Ability to travel between Dockside’s locations and support occasional marketing-related tasks in-store
- Possess a highly collaborative work style and strong ethic
- Ability to meet weekly deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong time-management and prioritization skills
