Burrow Global is seeking to hire a Lead Piping Designer for a long term assignment at a petrochemical facility on the east side of Houston.

Note: No per diem or relocation assistance is available on this position. You must live in the greater Houston area to be considered.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Produce all documents and drawings required to:
  • Produce complex technical drawings and piping isometrics.
  • Prepare working drawings from conceptual layout to detailed finished product.
  • Coordinate CAD projects with other discipline personnel.
  • Prepare and assemble project deliverables
  • Prepare estimates from general instruction and/or preliminary sketches.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager and/or Engineer during all phases of a project.

Duties involve all aspects of process piping design, including:

  • Equipment and Piping layouts, Line Lists, Manual Valve Lists, Drawing Lists, Piping Line Lists, Tie-In Schedules, P&IDs, and Plot Plans, 3D Modeling Production, Checking
  • May recommend modifications and changes for design improvement and simplification.
  • Ability to write project Scope of Work.

Qualifications to serve as Lead Piping Designer:

  • 10+ years’ experience in process pipe design in hydrocarbon service, including layout, production piping and checking
  • Strong communication, organization, and computer skills (Microsoft software)
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and CADWorx - 3D modeling design experience, (CadWorx administrative skills is a bonus)
  • Applicant should be motivated, have good analytical skills, and enjoy working in a challenging team environment.
  • Able to provide project design on small to medium projects from conception through detailed design.
  • Lead the design effort for a component of a large complex project.
  • Demonstrates ability to design retrofits in congested operating areas.
  • Ability to provide a finished product that meets all safety in design requirements and is easily operable and maintainable.
  • Able to make field trips in order to obtain accurate measurements and sketches.
  • Active TWIC Card is required
