Senior Copywriter/Content Specialist (Contract)

Our client is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Senior Copywriter/Content Specialist to join their team. This role will create engaging and impactful content across various channels and support the development of content strategies that align with their brand voice and business goals.

Location: This role would ideally be hybrid in Chicago, working from their headquarters one day a week. Could also be a fully remote position for the right fit.

Job Type: Contract, W2, full-time (37.5 hours/week)

Duration: 6 months with potential to extend

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, edit, and refine high-quality content for diverse external platforms, including blog posts and email campaigns.

• Ensure all written materials are accurate, grammatically correct, and align with brand messaging.

• Oversee the editorial calendar for the Marketing department to ensure timely content delivery.

• Facilitate efficient workflow processes within the team and across departments.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to create content that supports marketing strategies and business objectives.

• Maintain brand consistency by adhering to the established voice and style guide.

• Conduct in-depth research to understand target audiences, industry trends, and competitive dynamics.

• Evaluate content performance metrics and provide data-driven recommendations for enhancements.

Skills:

• 5-7+ years of experience in copywriting and content creation

• Strong preference for candidates with experience in commercial insurance; some insurance knowledge is essential.

• Exceptional skills in writing, editing, and proofreading.

• Ability to simplify complex insurance concepts into clear, engaging content.

• Excellent communication, research, and teamwork abilities.

• Keen attention to detail and capability to meet tight deadlines.

• A portfolio showcasing a variety of content types and successful campaigns.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $50.00 per hour
