Minimum Hiring Annual Salary:$51,856.00Maximum Hiring Annual Salary:$72,250.00To attain the maximum hiring amount employee must have:- Liberal Arts or Developmental Education Faculty Position: applicable Masters degree plus 36 credits (or an applicable terminal degree), plus 10 years of applicable work experience.
- Career Technical Education (CTE) Faculty Position: applicable Masters degree, plus 10 years of applicable work experience.

Job Description:

The College embraces and seeks to hire individuals who want to be a part of this environment and have the skill sets necessary to be successful in this position.Full-Time, Faculty, 9-month Academic position Music Faculty. This is a Full-Time, due process, benefited Faculty position beginning Fall, 2025.
The faculty member will conduct their assignments and co-curricular college activities in a manner consistent with the philosophy and purpose of Aims Community College as stated in the school catalog. The primary purpose of the faculty member is to teach. The faculty member is also responsible for professional development and service to the college.
Faculty member may be asked to: teach private lessons on the instrument(s) of their expertise, lead instrumental and/or vocal ensembles, depending on area of expertise, teach music theory and history, participate in public performances, or collaboratively accompany music students and faculty members. This position may require travel to satellite campuses.
Teaching & Professional Obligations:
Interact with students to provide opportunities to learn, creating conditions that facilitate learning, and using techniques and methods that create a high probability that learning will occur.
Instructional Delivery: Provide clear communication of information and promoting learning through an effective learning environment.
Instructional Design: Design, sequence, implement, and present experiences which promote student learning (both in-person & online), and designing, developing, and implementing tools, technologies, and procedures for assessing student-learning outcomes.
Collaborate in the development and implementation of diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments of learning for students.
Provide effective and high-quality instruction of subject being taught.
Apply learning-centered educational practices such as creating and communicating clearly-defined outcomes for student learning.
Provide a diverse array of learning activities that directly tie to those defined outcomes.
Use assessment data to improve instruction and learning, and participate in an ongoing College-Wide dialogue about teaching and learning.
Develop and refine department curriculum as necessary to maintain currency in pedagogy and content
Adopt new teaching methodologies as appropriate.
Implement department, division, and/or institutional goals as assigned.
Maintain office hours, turn in grades on time, meet assigned classes.
Submit course syllabi and other required documents on time.
Manage the classroom facility.
Keep accurate attendance and grade records.
Meet other professional obligations as stated in the Faculty Annual Plan and Evaluation

Scholarly & Creative Activities (Professional Development) & Service to the College:
Endeavors related to a faculty members teaching assignment that contribute to the discovery, dissemination, and practical application of knowledge and/or skill.
Acquire and/or maintain certification.
Attend conferences, workshops, and/or training appropriate to ones field.
Complete coursework related to ones teaching assignment.
Create teaching methodology and instructional design.
Other activities that contribute to keeping current in the content field.
Helping the College meet the goals and objectives of its mission and strategic plan.
Provide competent advising to students seeking AAS, AS, and/or AA Degrees and program certificates.
Fulfill College service requirements by making meaningful contributions on campus and/or to community service groups.
Participate in institutional and departmental recruitment and retention activities. Assist in the evaluation and selection of textbooks and other resources and materials in ones assigned area.
Serve on department, division, and institutional committees.
Assist in program and curriculum review, revision, and the development and assessment of learning.
Maintain classrooms and/or labs.
Demonstrate a willingness to embrace and apply the provisions of the Colleges mission statement, purpose, philosophy and commitment to diversity.
Minimum Qualification:
Masters Degree in Music.
Experience teaching in music at the college level.
Ability to teach using methodologies that support a student-centered learning environment.
Computer literacy and the ability to use computer technology in classroom/lab instruction.
A willingness to take classes in teaching methods, curriculum development, computer applications or other coursework deemed necessary by the Department Chair, Academic Dean, or Program Director.
A positive attitude toward teaching courses in varied modalities, including online, synchronous remote and traditional face-to-face.

Preferred Qualification:
Doctoral or Terminal Degree in Music.
3 years of teaching in higher education and/or community college setting.
Experience teaching and supporting traditionally underserved student populations.
A demonstrated aptitude for developing course content and teaching in varied modalities: online, synchronous remote, traditional face-to-face, and blended (hybrid) versions of each.
Demonstrated experience leading instrumental or vocal ensembles.
