Job Description

Visa is seeking a communications practitioner who excels in external communications and would also bring a specialty expertise in social media to its team. This Senior Manager of Global Business, Brand & Product Communications will help the team to build and execute integrated communications programsin primary support of the Value-Added Services (VAS) business unit. This energetic social media expert will lead the production of social content that communicates the Visa/VAS story to multiple audiences including clients, partners, consumers, prospective employees and media.

This person will report to the Vice President of Global VAS Communications and deliver content, social media assets, and press documents that help drive the VAS business forward in digital channels with growing influence. Their content will be critical to global and North American campaigns on topics vital to one of Visa's key growth engines.

The successful candidate will drive progress on multiple projects, work cross-functionally with product marketing, legal and other key business partners, and communicate strategic updates to Visa's senior leaders. The candidate should also have expertise as a general communications/PR practitioner, be aware of key technology and payments trends, and have their finger on the pulse of pop culture and social media signals.

Examples of responsibilities:

  • Lead draft communications for a range of campaign needs from press releases and pitches to articles and social media campaigns. Experience with multiple social media platforms a plus.
  • Help develop strategic documents that support key programs and campaigns, including product news, thought leadership and proactive storytelling.
  • Support event collateral needs and manage speaker submissions to highlight Visa innovations, experts and points of view.
  • Develop and draft key award submissions.
  • Extend the reach of global campaigns by serving our regional communications counterparts with content that can easily be localized. Foster a strong two-way dialogue between the regional and global comms teams.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic

* 8-10 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA) - the focus of your work has primarily been related to Journalism, PR or Communications.

* Outstanding writing and editing skills.

* Aptitude for understanding complex topics and distilling it down for others to understand.

* A solid ability to manage and drive multiple projects.

* Ability to think, plan, and execute both autonomously and as part of a broader team.

* Demonstrate executive presence, communicating efficiently and confidently with leaders and peers and providing strategic counsel.

Preferred

* You have prior experience working with large technology companies and matrixed environments.

* PR agency experience a plus.

* Editorial experience is highly preferred.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 142,200.00 to 206,350.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
