The Micron Global Communications & Marketing team is seeking a leader to join the team as Director of Global Policy Communications and External Affairs. In this role, you will serve as the global communications strategist who will help advance our policy work in key regions. We are looking for someone who has federal or state government experience as well as significant experience running communications around sophisticated legislative, regulatory, and political issues. Role and Responsibilities: Lead communications for policy efforts, including assessing policy communications needs across regions and building out a strategy in key locations. Develop and drive implementation of a global policy communications strategy to execution across coordinated channels, including KPI-setting and measurement. Partner closely with the Government and Public Affairs (GPA) and Legal teams to align on strategic responses to emerging policy issues. Provide ongoing counsel and thought partnership to the company’s senior leaders to best position Micron in new and growing markets to achieve our policy priorities. Develop proactive campaign strategies to educate policymakers and users on key issues related to memory, Micron, and other issues of key importance to policy-focused audiences. Develop messaging, press releases, blogs, and social content to communicate our public policy positions on meaningful issues to our key collaborators. Draft expert-level communications on behalf of the executive team for policy audiences in partnership with executive communications, government and public affairs, legal, people and finance teams. Build on the arsenal of effective messaging on active policy issues and content. Manage ongoing engagement and education of policy-focused media, industry, policymakers, and other collaborators. Prepare spokespeople for media interviews, policy meetings, and public appearances related to policy issues. Drive engagement with validators who can serve as third-party voices to reinforce Micron messages. Supervise Micron’s policy-focused Twitter handle, including content strategy and development. Qualifications and Education: Bachelor’s degree required. 10+ years of policy communications experience in government and/or the technology, defense, semiconductor, supply chain (automotive, industrial, manufacturing, consumer electronics) industry. Established relationships with key members of the media and think tanks. Excellent analytical, written, and verbal business interpersonal skills. Proven collaborator. Proven manager with experience optimally leading and growing a team. Experience leading agencies to strive to objectives. Strong desire and dedication to quality and innovation; steadfastly pushes self and others to drive results. Ability to weigh big-picture policy and political objectives with immediate business needs. Previous experience working at a multinational company in a highly matrixed organization. The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is: $183,000.00 - $320,500.00 Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
