We are seeking a dynamic Director of Sales and Marketing to be responsible for developing, executing, maintaining and monitoring all facets of the Sales and Marketing processes at Belmond El Encanto. The successful candidate will be responsible to craft, implement and execute the Sales and Marketing strategies and actions as outlined in the resort's Sales and Marketing plan. Through you and your team's activities, you are tasked with the responsibility to achieve defined market segment production, property occupancy, average daily rate and RevPar budgets. This position is responsible for comprehensive resort marketing and includes business development for all outlets, including but not limited to The Spa at El Encanto, Catering, Private Events and Restaurant outlets.
Responsibilities:
To be responsible for establishing and directing the marketing and sales activities of El Encanto, A Belmond Hotel with a view to outperform all business competitors through intelligent partnerships and well-developed alliances. Develop, conduct, and oversee all sales campaigns, as well as marketing and promotional activities. Achieving and/or surpassing established top line revenue goals for the property. Guiding and developing Sales Managers to produce sales action plans to increase business from target markets and geo sources. Develop and mentor Sales, Marketing, Events and Administrative teams fostering a positive culture that leads to growth. Support General Manager in the development and creation of annual budget, strategic plans and asset management presentations. Work with General Manager and Divisionals on annual budget presentation and S&M financial targets and costs. Lead strategy development of promotional and 360° marketing plans to increase revenue production from existing and potential customer base. Develops exceptional guest experiences and pop-ups in conjunction with Operations Teams, Marketing Manager and in alignment with Belmond brand guidelines. Establish property brand culture and ethos in conjunction with Human Resources. Curate the guest journey and brand alignment from acquisition to on-property to advocacy in conjunction with the Marketing Manager and Operations teams. Travels as necessary for sales activities when senior leadership is needed at trade shows or events. Entertains key accounts, influencers and media to secure business and brand awareness for the resort when required. Adheres to established procedures and timelines for submitting weekly production reports. Preparation of the Sales & Marketing plan. In conjunction with Divisional Brand & Sales Directors, Revenue Director and Marketing Manager, develop rates, group ceilings and deployment strategies through review of competitive data, demand analysis and mix management. Prepare and submit plans, budgets, progress, and annual sales reports. Track trends, data, and understand the competitive market. Promotes open communications and strong working relationships with resort and corporate staff to maximize revenues and training where needed. Plans and executes sales blitzes, familiarization trips and product launches. Works closely with fellow related managers on leads and strategies to exploit new business opportunities and market penetration. Find and create synergies and partnerships with other luxury brands. Creates and monitors monthly reports, tactical action plans and weekly, monthly, and quarterly forecasts and related team and individual performance goals. Develops and recommends positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to achieve the highest possible short and long-term market share. Possess a clear understanding of the hotel's SWOT analysis including the competitive set analysis, and utilization of available quantitative tools, such as PowerBI, TravelClick, Hotelligence and STR reports and adjusts sales strategy and tactics as needed. Guides preparation of reports and communicates comprehensively to executive management, Belmond management and hotel ownership primarily through weekly revenue strategy meeting, and weekly ownership meeting. Analyses and controls expenditures of region to conform to budgetary requirements as well as code and process invoices according to the Uniform System of Accounting. Ensures the department members meet all federal, state, and local regulations affecting the hotel. Understands and adheres to office procedures, and Belmond standards, including HMS/INFOR standards and data entry into sales and catering software system and OSC. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements A university degree or college degree in business administration, marketing, communications, public relations, advertising, or a related field is required. Skills: Proven and trackable sales success and a minimum of 5 years supervisory or management experience in the sales and marketing of internal luxury hotel brands. Recognized people leadership skills. Hotel financial literacy in budget preparation and P&L analysis. A sound knowledge of the product and competitive environment, as well as a strong network of established connections with luxury brand accounts (Leisure, Group, Tour Operator) in Southern California. Market analysis, effective communication, presentation, and human relations skills. Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and Word would be a plus.
