Vice President of Sales & Marketing – North America

Location: Bartlett, IL – This role requires an on-site presence to foster relationships with direct and indirect reports. Significant travel is required, including quarterly trips to headquarters in Germany and additional visits to company or customer sites throughout North America. Total travel is approximately 50%.

Position Overview: The company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Sales & Marketing to lead its North American operations. This role will oversee sales and marketing functions, drive strategic growth, and align North American initiatives with global objectives.

Key Responsibilities: Lead and develop a high-performing sales and marketing team, fostering collaboration across departments including Sales, Technical Sales Support, Applications Engineering, Service, and Marketing. Develop and execute a comprehensive sales and marketing strategy aligned with global growth initiatives. Manage key customer relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring long-term partnerships. Oversee budget management, revenue forecasting, and performance metrics to drive double-digit growth. Lead sales efforts for select customers or territories while balancing leadership responsibilities. Enhance marketing strategies, including lead generation, trade shows, digital marketing, and customer engagement initiatives. Align North American operations with global headquarters, ensuring seamless cooperation across regions. Implement process optimization strategies to improve efficiency and team performance.

Qualifications: Proven experience in sales leadership within capital equipment, custom machinery, or industrial automation. Strong background in selling complex systems such as conveyors, packaging machines, CNC tools, or pharmaceutical machinery. Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams, with a focus on personal and professional development. Experience in a global business environment; familiarity with German business culture is a plus. Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred. Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage C-level executives and technical stakeholders. Strong technical acumen and ability to bridge the gap between customers and engineering teams. Data-driven mindset with experience in CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and sales performance analysis. Comfortable with extensive travel, both domestically and internationally.

Compensation & Benefits: Competitive salary range: $260,000 - $280,000, plus annual performance-based bonus. Car allowance. 401K with employer match. Interview Process: Initial virtual interview with HR for personality and cultural fit assessment. On-site interview with senior leadership. Final interview including a sales presentation (may take place in Bartlett or at global headquarters in Germany). Visit to Germany headquarters to meet executive leadership.
