Job Description
As an S.Walter Packaging Group company, LPI provides limitless possibilities for our customers and our team. In this role, you will collaborate with others to create innovative folding carton and rigid box concepts utilizing creativity and imagination. You will take ownership of delivering for our customer’s needs, as well as addressing production feasibility. Your industry experience will drive all phases of the design process from conceptual to strategic, and tactical to final execution.
Qualifications
- Technical degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Two years of relevant design experience required
- Proficient in the use of current design software (Impact CAD, Artios CAD, Adobe, etc.)
- Experience in the operation and maintenance of the sample cutting table
- Knowledge and experience with relevant materials and manufacturing methods for the print and manufacture of folding cartons and rigid boxes
Responsibilities
- Lead the design process for folding carton and rigid box packaging, which includes brainstorming, sketching, and creating prototypes
- Create innovative design/structural solutions and produce samples to meet customer requirements
- Support sales team, including meeting with customers and vendors as required
- Review sample requests for accuracy, layout, and planning with sales, estimating, and production
- Provide guidance regarding most cost-effective designs
- Understand and optimize material options based on customer requirements and material availability
- Review production orders for design conformance and functionality
- Manage multiple projects at one time while working in a team environment to meet deadlines
- Conduct research relating to market trends, technology, innovations, and new materials
- Other duties as assigned or required.
