The Community Affairs team resides in the Corporate Affairs Group at Charles Schwab, which is responsible for managing the company's image and reputation. The Community Affairs team's work falls into three broad categories: empower Americans through financial literacy education, foster strong communities and support the work of the Charles Schwab Foundation.

In our communities, we leverage our people, programs, and resources to strengthen relationships and enrich lives in the communities where each of us live and work. We manage programs that help build financial literacy, encourage volunteerism, and the grants the Charles Schwab Foundation makes to our communities.
The Community Affairs team is seeking a Content Manager- Community Affairs who will be responsible for editorial support and content management for the consumer financial literacy education website: Schwab Moneywise and the bi-weekly personal finance column Money Talk.
The role is publishing centric, collaborates closely with internal stakeholders from compliance to web publishing and supports our mission to empower Americans through financial education.
Located at the Westlake campus, the role also supports our community engagement and volunteer efforts at Schwab headquarters.
In this role you will:
- Enhance our owned content channel: Schwab Moneywise.com and support editorial management of our bi-weekly Money Talk column.
- Become certified as a Schwab Federated publisher enabling you to build and publish Schwab Moneywise and Money Talk website pages and manage the Jira publishing documentation process.
- Manage editorial trafficking and the life cycle of a piece of Schwab content from stakeholder reviews, Workfront compliance approval, proofreading, website page building to annual content attestation/or retirement.
- Execute publishing of the LinkedIn Money Talk biweekly newsletter.
- Project manage Money Talk paid campaign materials.
- Learn and execute search engine optimization (SEO) research and content review using SemRush tool.
- Provide additional financial literacy content support as needed, including post-publishing content communications, publishing trouble-shooting, with opportunity for content creation if desired.
- Twenty percent (20%) of the role will focus on managing local community engagement and volunteer community event management in Westlake. Create and execute volunteer campaigns that unite and activate employees to support local communities, and partner with and support our Community Ambassador team in Westlake.
- Employees may have the flexibility for a hybrid schedule, following our hybrid work flexibility program where they divide their time between working remotely or in the office. This role is expected to be in the office 4 days a week for the first six months, then transition to be in office 3 days a week.
What you have
To ensure that we fulfill our promise of “challenging the status quo,” this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Communications, related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3 plus years’ experience supporting financial education content.
- Experience with web publishing.
- Previous project management experience, working with deadlines, internal stakeholders and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated experience managing campaign material.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A passion for financial literacy education and volunteerism is a plus.
- Experience managing volunteer events, preferred.
- Experience in Workfront, Jira, and Drupal content management system (CMS) publishing is a plus.
- Self-starter approach—proactive entrepreneurial spirit, a can-do demeanor, problem-solving skills and the ability to learn quickly.
- Excellent results—manage editorial projects on time with phenomenal attention to detail.
- A well-developed collaborative nature: the ability to work effectively with others toward common goals, values effective relationships and partnering. Superior communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment, coordinating complex project details, and juggling multiple priorities. Able to meet firm deadlines across multiple projects simultaneously.
- Efficiency in multi-tasking in support of a fast-paced team.
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
