What we’re looking for:
Requires an active law license in good standing in any jurisdiction. An Attorney-Editor shall at all times during employment with the Supreme Court be an attorney properly admitted to the practice of law and be in good standing with the appropriate admitting authority of any state or territory of the United States.
Requires a minimum of two years’ experience as a licensed attorney.
Requires substantial experience in editing and proofreading, preferably of legal documents.
Requires a strong command of grammar, punctuation, and spelling and the ability to identify and implement proper style, diction, and citations to authorities.
Requires the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently and to use technical and legal language.
Requires substantial skills in legal research and legal writing.
Requires proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word and Outlook), the internet, and legal-research databases (e.g., Westlaw, Lexis).
Requires the ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
Requires the ability to effectively interact and communicate with supervisor, co-workers, justices, judges, other public officials and employees, attorneys, Court personnel, and the public.
