iMedX, a Rapid Care Group company, is actively seeking a qualified individual with excellent medical transcription and editing skills to join us as a Quality Assurance Associate (QAA). This is a full-time work from home (remote) contractor position.

PURPOSE

Working under the direct supervision of the Director of Transcription Operations, the Quality Assurance Associate will review real-time transcribed/edited documents for accuracy, transcribe/edit as deemed necessary, and may perform quality audits.

The experienced Quality Assurance Associate has advanced knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, disease processes, signs and symptoms, medications, and laboratory values and the ability to understand diverse accents, dialects, and varying dictation styles. The role includes the following responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

  1. Proofreads a variety of accounts, dictation work types, and specialties with urgency and accuracy across multiple transcription platforms.
  2. Recognizes inconsistencies, discrepancies, and inaccuracies in medicolegal healthcare documentation and appropriately resolves, clarifies, and/or reports as necessary.
  3. Utilizes an array of professional reference materials including those in electronic format. Proficient in referencing and researching.
  4. Understands the medicolegal implications and responsibilities of the healthcare records, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations along with security standards and privacy practices (e.g., confidentiality, security of patient care documentation, risk management, HIPAA).
  5. Review transcribed/edited reports against the original dictation voice file, applying AHDI Book of Style.
  6. Disclose any HIPAA violations found within the report to direct supervisor.
  7. Pursues continuous enhancement of proofreading, transcription/editing, and transcription technology skills.
  8. Foster a culture of customer service, quality, and continuous improvement.
  9. May perform random review, through an automated or manual selection process, of real-time or previously transcribed reports per criteria, as requested.
  10. May provide timely results of the random review, along with consistent feedback to eliminate repetition of errors and skill building.
  11. Promote the Company's values.
  12. Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned or required.
