The Fashion Program works with the Council of Fashion Designers of America Education Initiatives and is recognized both nationally and internationally as a fashion school of high caliber. This is a permanent, nine month, non-tenure track faculty position. Position begins August 2025.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate fashion courses in both lecture and studio formats, including those utilizing Adobe Creative Suite, CLO, and similar software tools.
  • Advise undergraduate students in the fashion program.
  • Participate in faculty governance at the program, school, and college levels.
  • Pursue professional development and scholarship continuously.
  • Collaborate closely with faculty, the chair of fashion, and the dean of the Women’s College to shape the ongoing development of the fashion curriculum across the fashion program degrees.
  • Nurture individual students’ design abilities with a strong commitment to design education.

Requirements:

  • MFA or Ph.D. with at least one degree in fashion, apparel, or a closely aligned degree.
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite, CLO, or other apparel software.
  • Experienced as a fashion designer, technical designer, patternmaker, and/or in supply chain management.
  • Proven accomplishments in developing connections with industry to provide opportunities for student and departmental projects/outreach.
  • Strong skills in both written and visual communications from an informed fashion perspective.
  • Record of innovative teaching in higher education.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, including working with groups, meeting deadlines, and effective communication and motivation skills.
  • Experience in program and curricular development and assessment.
