II.Job Overview

The Lincoln Children’s Museum is seeking a creative and motivated Multimedia Specialist to join the marketing team. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide direct support to the CMO in the successful execution of the annual marketing plan. The Multimedia Specialist will be able to bring concepts and ideas to life to support annual campaigns and marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of current design software and be skilled in every step of the design process, from concept to final deliverable. In addition to graphic design, this role will be responsible for updating and monitoring the Museum’s website and social media accounts. The Multimedia Specialist will also assist with photography, light video production, and special projects to ensure a cohesive brand is communicated both internally and externally. Finally, this role involves assisting in the execution of Museum events, ensuring marketing efforts align with overall organizational goals.

III. Essential Functions

  • Execute the design and production of Museum marketing projects.
  • Manage and create Museum marketing materials, including but not limited to:
  • Museum newsletter and other printed mailings
  • Paid media, such as billboards, print ads, banner ads, social media ads
  • Organic social media posts and videos/reels
  • Web graphics
  • Email graphics
  • Internal posters, signage, and promotions
  • Illustration and logo design
  • Update website with new events, promotions, exhibits, and initiatives
  • Field and answer routine and non-routine questions from employees and the public, seeking guidance and information as necessary
  • Work in cooperation with other staff as well as independently on special or ongoing projects
  • Prioritize a diverse project workload to meet deadlines
  • Assist in setup and execution of Museum events
  • Maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction, striving to exceed the expectations of Lincoln Children's Museum patrons
  • Take instructions from the CMO to perform other functions as assigned, to meet the goals and objectives of Lincoln Children's Museum
  • Work closely with the marketing team, as well as operations and development

IV. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field
  • 2-3 years of experience within a marketing team as a full time position
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to balance multiple projects/tasks in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • Ability to take direction when needed, while also providing self-direction to complete projects/tasks.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and be comfortable working with both internal and external audiences.
  • Ability to take feedback constructively and adjust designs accordingly
  • Ability to collaborate
  • Ability to produce high-quality work, occasionally under tight deadlines, is required
  • Ability to handle sensitive/confidential information is essential
  • Proficiency and experience with the following preferred:
  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • InDesign
  • Canva
  • CapCut
  • Microsoft Office
  • WordPress (able to make changes and updates to existing site)
  • Constant Contact
  • Google Analytics
  • Meta Business Suite
  • Basic photography skills
  • Portfolio Requirement–Applicants must submit a portfolio showcasing examples of graphic design, photography, and video work. A link to an online portfolio, or an attachment with work samples is preferred.

V. Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions

  • Primarily sedentary work with occasional lifting or carrying up to, but not exceeding, 50 pounds.
  • Primarily indoor work—may be exposed to some outdoor elements and/or hazards.

VI.Time Commitment

This role requires on-site presence during regular business hours a minimum of four days per week during regular business hours, with occasional evenings and weekends, as needed. Flexibility for one remote workday may be considered, pending approval and performance.

VII.Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this hourly position is $19.25/hour to $24/hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Lincoln Children’s Museum offers full-time employee benefits to include:
