About the Role

As a Temporary Music Teacher at Merryhill School, you will have the opportunity to inspire students through music education, fostering a love for music and helping them develop their musical skills and knowledge. Our music program is designed to encourage creativity, critical thinking, and a passion for music that students can carry with them throughout their lives. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic music teacher who can create a dynamic and inclusive learning environment for our students.

You will also…

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive music curriculum that includes various aspects of music theory, history, and performance
  • Encourage students to explore different musical instruments and genres
  • Organize and conduct school concerts, recitals, and other musical events
  • Collaborate with other faculty and staff members to integrate music education into the broader school curriculum
  • Communicate with parents or guardians about their child’s progress and involvement in the music program
  • Maintain a well-organized and engaging classroom environment that supports student learning and creativity

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a related field from an accredited college or university
  • Teaching certification in music education preferred
  • Prior teaching experience, particularly in a school setting, is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of music theory, history, and performance
  • Ability to pass both state and federal background checks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for teaching and a commitment to student development
