Job Summary:
The Martin School of Public Policy and Administration and the Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Officer to join their partnership. This position will be responsible for leading the preparation of internal department budgets and ensuring the smooth operation of financial processes within both schools. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with faculty and staff while maintaining compliance with university regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation and management of internal department budgets for both the Martin School and the Patterson School.
- Maintain and reconcile Cost Centers and Statistical Internal Orders.
- Manage endowed funds and ensure compliance with gift agreements.
- Process payments and reimbursements through various university systems.
- Coordinate with event planners and submit income transmittals.
- Assist in the development and management of funding plans for students.
- Prepare grant budgets and assist with payroll confirmations.
- Perform cost distributions and ensure compliance with university regulations.
- Provide policy guidance and insights to ensure fiscal alignment with organizational goals.
- Support general operations and perform other duties as required by the Dean Assistant/Finance/Graduate School.
Attributes:
- Strong financial management skills with experience in budget preparation and reconciliation.
- Knowledge of financial systems and compliance regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with multiple departments.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in event planning and fund management is a plus.
Skills /Knowledge/Abilities:
Microsoft Office to include Excel, PowerPoint, Word, e-mail, detailed oriented, and self starter.
Position Time Status: Full-Time
Required Education: AA
Required Related Experience: 7 yrs
Required License/Registration/Certification: None.
Preferred Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree. Knowledge of SAP and CDEM.
