Job Description:
Oregon State Treasury has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and seasoned Digital Media Strategist to join our team! This position reports to our Communications Director and will develop and implement digital media strategy that raises awareness about the State Treasurer and the Oregon State Treasury and mobilizes action to advance the financial well-being of people in Oregon.
Position Responsibilities Develop and implement a strategic digital media plan.
Develop and execute a strategy to grow, reach and engage key audiences through a range of web, digital and social media platforms.
Identify social media platforms for Oregon State Treasury to prioritize and on which to engage. Develop an approach to efficiently tailor content to each platform's distinct format and audiences.
Facilitate meetings with Oregon State Treasury staff and members of the public to develop digital communication strategies for the agency.
Attend executive Oregon State Treasury staff meetings to give input on public affairs policy initiatives and advice on digital communications strategy.
Develop and execute digital campaigns to advance the Treasurer's priorities, including digital communications and outreach efforts.
Maintain and implement a digital media editorial calendar and support it through the production of daily content such as social cards, videos, blog posts, content for podcast interviews, web copy, social media toolkits.
Develop effective social media campaigns to draw awareness to the Treasurer's and the Oregon State Treasury's goals and priorities and the beneficial impact they are having on Oregonians and their communities.
Develop collaborative relationships with community partners to expand the reach of Oregon State Treasury's consumer-facing and strategic messages.
Work with partner organizations to disseminate social media toolkits to elevate the visibility of the Treasurer and the Oregon State Treasury's goals and priorities and engage audiences to support the financial well-being of people in Oregon.
Produce culturally responsive content that reaches underserved communities and advances equity in financial well-being.
Recommend and establish systems, rules, policies, and practices that align social media content across Oregon State Treasury programs.
Produce regular social media reports and develop recommendations to expand the reach and effectiveness of the Oregon State Treasury's digital media content based on data trends.
Work Schedule This position will have the opportunity for a hybrid (remote and in-office) work location schedule; in-office work will be from Treasury's office in Salem. This position will work in the office 2-3 days a week (potentially Monday - Wednesday) with occasional travel to locations across the state. Based on business needs this position may require additional days in the office.
Salary Range $84,048 - $129,948 annually.
Job Classification This position is classified as a Public Affairs Specialist 3. This position is an executive service position.
Required Minimum Qualifications A bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, public relations, marketing, journalism, behavioral science, social science, or related field AND five years of professional level experience in public relations or public affairs; OR
Eight years of experience directly related to the position under recruitment. Five of the eight years must have been at the professional level.
