Location: Remote or Hybrid if you live near the East Windsor, NJ, or Malvern, PA office. Two days in the office and three days working from home
Travel: Twice a year to our SAWC Spring and SAWC Fall conferences and as needed (minimal travel)
Reports to: Assistant Editorial Director, Podiatry Today, WoundSource, Today’s Wound Clinic

With a mission to improve patient care, we deliver information and education to healthcare professionals through 400+ global, regional, and local events and reach over 4 million users monthly through digital networks and social channels.
We are seeking a Managing Editor to focus on content related to the business of Wound Care.
Responsibilities:
- Independently manage detailed content quality assurance on a rolling basis, focusing on content accuracy in a fluid subject matter, content balance, content performance, and website presentation. When necessary, update content based on thought leader feedback.
- Immerse oneself in the subject matter, actively researching new and evolving topics, including trends, thought leaders, and regulatory updates.
- Assist in managing critical advisors to the brand at the direction of the Assistant Editorial Director.
- Independently manage the administration of assignments for and honoraria due to brand contributors and reviewers.
- On a rolling basis, solicit, assign, edit, and facilitate content review. The Managing Editor may also take on writing assignments themselves as necessary.
- Collaborate with a graphic artist when necessary, using Adobe InDesign, InCopy, and Acrobat to create the required visual deliverables.
- On a rolling basis, solicit, engage, schedule, and record multimedia (audio or video) content such as interviews with thought leaders. Process files through a shared multimedia editing service to prepare for publication. Facilitate review of files.
- When necessary and directed, moderate and host multimedia recordings to be audience-facing.
- Facilitate the creation of brand-specific webinars using a project management system and in collaboration with existing multi-team collaborative protocols.
- Consistently ensure that all content assets and deliverables are available by stated deadlines.
- Upload and schedule content for publication into the brand content management system and related platforms, including all necessary tags, formatting, and styling.
- Create, deploy, and monitor the performance of regular brand e-newsletters.
- Manage and execute the brand’s social media strategy.
- Collaborate with HMP teams on tasks to enhance brand goals and objectives, such as Marketing, Sales, Education, and Design.
- Contribute as needed to the goals and objectives of the larger Wound Care/Surgery/Podiatrist editorial team, such as covering HMP meetings relevant to the subject matter.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a 4-year college degree in a related field (Journalism, English, Biomedical Science, etc.)
- 2-3 years of experience working in medical publishing or a related field (Required)
- Strong writing, proofreading and editing skills
- Proficient with clinical content (Required)
- Familiarity with AMA style or similar style guides
- Strong understanding of digital content strategies
- Strong working knowledge of our digital platforms
- Proficient in multimedia content developing and editing
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of HTML (preferred)
- Must be able to handle multiple projects at the same time with tight deadlines
- Strong organizational skills
- Good interpersonal and diplomacy skills
- Verifiable and consistent work history
