Job Title: Marketing Coordinator

Classification: Non-exempt, Full-time

Reports to: Marketing Team Leader

Location: 400 Capitol Mall, Suite 650, Sacramento - Monday through Friday

This position is NOT remote or hybrid.

The California Lawyers Association (CLA) is the Bar association for all California attorneys. We are a member-driven, mission-focused organization dedicated to the professional advancement of attorneys practicing in the state of California. CLA has eighteen Sections including the New Lawyers Section (NLS) that share an area of interest in law, and each offers top-tier programs, award winning conferences, events, and provides access to outstanding legal resources. Job Summary:

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for developing, coordinating, and executing marketing campaigns by conducting market research, creating marketing content, managing campaign logistics, tracking results, and collaborating with various teams to ensure that CLA's marketing goals are achieved effectively. This includes working with our Sections and volunteer leaders to curate content for members to learn and engage via our social channels.

This position will create, write and edit marketing materials, including brochures, flyers, and social media posts. Duties also entail tracking various marketing campaigns' progress, developing digital marketing materials, sourcing images and artwork, graphic design, collating content, updating online assets, streamlining digital marketing production, and handling general digital marketing and communications activities.

Ideal candidates for this role should have a design eye, knowledge of typography and best practices in graphic design (sense of what's trending in industry) be creative and innovative, multimedia savvy, well-organized, writing skills including creative writing for campaigns, proofreading, possess a firm grasp of the different digital touch points, drive effective digital campaigns, enhance user experience, and deliver on marketing objectives.

Marketing Coordinator Responsibilities:
  • Experience using Canva, Sprout Social and Basecamp (or a similar project management software)
  • Develop, implement and manage our social media content, accounts, strategy and initiatives
  • Develop marketing processes, marketing collateral, and edit marketing materials
  • Some graphic design for various print, social and web projects
  • Edit photo/video for marketing and social media content
  • Research market trends
  • Develop and source content for digital platforms
  • Help develop marketing guidelines and KPI's
  • Connect data-driven strategy with marketing
  • Measure the success of marketing campaigns
  • Pitch concepts and gain buy-in from stakeholders
  • Successfully present campaigns and marketing tactics to clients
  • Manage relationships with multiple vendors and advertising clients
  • Monitor user engagement and suggest content optimization
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Passionate about combining the art of storytelling and the science of performance to drive a successful marketing program to the next level

Marketing Coordinator Requirements:
• 4-year bachelor's degree or equivalent
• 3 or more years of experience in a similar role
• Experience developing and running marketing campaigns
• Active on social media
• Excellent copywriting and copy-editing skills
