As a Manager of PD TPM, you lead the PD TPM team in developing products from concept to mass production. You will be responsible for managing multiple products development plans across our device portfolio, defining the vision and mechanisms on how the PD TPM team efficiently moves through development, overseeing the mechanical engineering design processes and issue resolution, and developing your direct reports to meet their career goals.

Key job responsibilities

As a Manager (TPM), you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative consumer products. In this role, you will:

  1. Work with key stakeholders in product management, hardware engineering, and executive teams to define strategy, requirements, and align on mechanical engineering issue resolution.
  2. Deep dive on key technical issues and lead teams to find solutions within program constraints.
  3. Work with Tooling and Manufacturing leaders to unblock key issues and define new processes/working models between teams.
  4. Manage resource prioritization for the PD TPM and Product Design teams to keep program development on track.
  5. Work with remote teams across the world and travel to Asia to meet with suppliers, support builds, and work with local teams.
  6. Communicate regularly with senior management on status, risks and to drive key decision making.
  7. Mentor your direct reports to develop their technical and soft skills, including leadership communication, to reach their long term career goals.

About the team

Our team mission is to deliver delightful products to customers on-time and within budget. We have a high bar quality bar to meet both industrial design and reliability requirements. We work across hardware, product, and operations to develop products, solve hard engineering problems, and meet cost/schedule requirements.

Our team is made up of System TPMs, PD TPMs, and Engineering Program Specialists (EPS).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  1. 8+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience, consumer electronics preferred.
  2. 5+ years of technical product or program management experience including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience.
  3. Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules.
  4. Bachelor's degree in engineering, (Mechanical Engineering preferred).
  5. 3+ years of managing direct reports.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Mechanical Engineering or Tooling background.
  2. Excellent oral and written communication skills; this includes skill in collaborating with technical subject matter experts where needed.
  3. Experience working with senior leadership, driving consensus and alignment at the Director/VP level.
  4. PMP Certification.
  5. 3+ Years in Mechanical Engineering focused Technical Program Management.
  6. Experience managing teams of 6 or larger.
