Who You Are:
As the Director of Public Relations, your expertise in media strategy spans both local and national levels, allowing you to craft and execute effective media strategy and communication plans. Your passion for leveraging media connections and strategic insights drives successful public relations initiatives.
The Impact You Will Have:
You will work closely with integrated marketing, government affairs, development, and external agencies to create and promote the corporate identity and mission to the public, prospects, and customers. You will oversee media relations and serve as the company’s liaison, managing response to inquiries from the press and proactive opportunities to tell the QTS story.
What You Will Do:
Develop and implement public relations strategies that align with QTS’s overall goals and objectives.
Lead the development of a proactive narrative and proof points at the national and community level.
Develop and manage QTS’s go-to-market communications plans.
Collaborate with Government Affairs, Marketing, and Development partners.
Manage national and local media relations.
Lead and manage public relations content across various channels.
Manage the identification of case studies and assets that align to our narratives.
Lead the strategy and preparation for company interviews, briefings, events, and other media-facing opportunities.
Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders.
Develop and execute crisis communication plans as needed.
Actively track and report data findings on industry news/trends.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency in messaging.
Lead the translation of media landscape into actionable ways for QTS to engage.
What You Will Need to be Successful:
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, or a related field; equivalent professional experience in lieu of a degree.
Ten or more years of experience in communications, including leading public relations or media relations.
Strong communications skills through excellent oral and written communication.
Nice to Have:
Experience working directly with media.
Experience counseling clients and/or internal stakeholders on public relations strategies.
Experience managing team members on executing public relations strategy.
Experience working in the technology or data center industry.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
Knowledge of crisis communication best practices.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong service and support orientation.
An enthusiastic positive team player.
