Your role in helping us shape the future:

U.S. News empowers everyone to thrive. We are seeking a sharp auto Insurance Reporter to empower consumers with the knowledge needed to make the best auto insurance-related decisions.

The Insurance Reporter is responsible for writing insightful, actionable articles about auto insurance companies and the industry, such as the best car insurance companies (at the national and state level), reviews about individual car insurance providers, articles comparing two providers against each other, and other general auto insurance topics. You will work with the car insurance editorial team along with the assistant managing editor for insurance to identify which topics to write about and how best to maintain the library via regular content updates.

You should definitely have:

  1. Five years to eight years of journalism experience, with a background in the auto insurance space.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in journalism, a related degree or equivalent experience.
  3. A strong knowledge of the insurance industry.
  4. Strong writing skills.
  5. Strong relationships with subject matter experts in the auto insurance space.
  6. An understanding of SEO concepts and best practices.
  7. The ability to multitask and work on tight deadlines in a fast-paced, digital environment.
  8. Excellent communication skills.

It would be nice if you had:

  1. Experience working in a content management system.
  2. Experience using Google Docs and Sheets.
  3. Familiarity with SEO tools.
  4. Experience with traffic analytics tools like Google Analytics.
