ABOUT THIS JOB:

The UI/UX Intern will be passionate about creating user-centered designs, with a strong focus on usability, accessibility, and consistency. This individual thrives in collaborative environments, embraces feedback, and is eager to learn and grow in the field of UI/UX design.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, stakeholders) to design user-friendly digital experiences, ensuring design consistency and alignment with project goals.
  • Contribute to user research, wireframing, prototyping, and design systems to refine design processes for exceptional user experiences across digital platforms.
  • Iterate on designs based on feedback from stakeholders and users to improve usability, aesthetics, and accessibility, ensuring compliance with ADA standards.
  • Conduct user research, competitive analysis, and usability testing to inform design decisions.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs (using tools like Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch).
  • Develop user journey maps and personas to enhance user experience.
  • Ensure design feasibility by working closely with developers to validate designs and facilitate smooth implementation.
  • Maintain and contribute to a design system for consistency and scalability across projects.
  • Document design decisions, best practices, and usability guidelines to support the design process and future iterations.

Requirements

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in UI/UX Design, Graphic Design, HCI, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of UX research methods, wireframing, prototyping tools, and design principles.
  • Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, and Sketch.
  • Ability to communicate design concepts effectively through sketches, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a user-first mindset and attention to ADA compliance standards.
  • Experience designing for both mobile and desktop platforms.
  • Passion for visual collaboration, diagramming, and software development.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, with a focus on collaboration and learning.
  • Strong communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to accept feedback and continuously learn.
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and eagerness to grow, but also adaptable and willing to take guidance in a learning environment.
  • Knowledge of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus but not required.
  • Understanding of typography, color theory, accessibility, and design principles.
  • Present a portfolio of UX work (examples of paid work, personal projects, or school assignments).

SCHEDULE:

WORK SPACE INFO:

This job operates in a warehouse environment which requires standing, moving, lifting, and operating machinery and computers. Personal Protection Equipment may be required. Safety training is mandatory and employees must be able to pass basic safety requirements.

TRAINING:

Training for this position will be completed by the department manager. Training will consist of education on key processes, preparation and staging requirements by customer, location of tools, supplies and materials. You will be trained on how to use the order interface, how to properly read orders and where to look for notes. Additional training will be completed as processes evolve or as required.

SAFETY:

Namify enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe working environment.
