Vice President for Advancement Job Description: This role works directly with the VP for Advancement (VPFA) to advance the Mission of Holy Cross through fundraising, event planning, and communications. The Director of Alumni Relations and Communications also works closely with the Admissions Department developing and implementing strategies to increase parent and student engagement to increase applicants and enrollment. This is accomplished via a multi-pronged strategy with several main components: Plan and execute alumni, donor, and constituent events via both traditional and technology-based registrations and communications. Assist the VPFA with alumni/donor identification, cultivation, and engagement as required. Create various marketing collateral and web content for Advancement and Admissions as needed. Oversee and maintain periodic changes to the website. General Responsibilities: Assist VPFA in developing, creating, managing, and overseeing all fundraising and programmatic events supported by the Advancement Office. Provide support and supervision of Advancement Services Coordinator along with VPFA and Director of Giving (DG) as it relates to event support. Build and sustain relationships with alumni, donors, parents, businesses, etc., for awareness of and support for Holy Cross’s work. Represent Holy Cross at functions as needed. Coordinate and work with school leadership, faculty, and staff as needed and directed by the VPFA for alumni engagement programs and communications. Create and manage Holy Cross social media content and website updates. Perform other duties as directed by the VPFA, not limited to those mentioned herein. Specific Responsibilities Include: Advancement Events Planning, marketing, implementation, online registration of and follow-up for the President’s Dinner, Walkathon, Hall of Fame (HOF), Career Day, Reunion, Golf Outing, and other Advancement events. Create and/or oversee creation of invitations, posters, brochures, sponsorship packets, signage, virtual journals, golf and Walk materials, etc. Oversee budget for events and seek cost savings where possible without affecting the integrity of the event. Manage day of President’s Dinner, HOF, Reunion, Golf Outing, etc. Help recruit sponsors, donations, raffle gift items, and volunteers for all appropriate events. Work directly with VPFA to create and implement new alumni affinity/donor events with an emphasis on young alumni engagement. Communications/Website Draft and post social media materials for ongoing engagement and marketing. Coordinate and expand social media opportunities for alumni and constituents. Manage website, including graphic changes and new content. Create, edit, and post videos as requested for Advancement/Admissions and other areas. Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree at a minimum. Minimum 5-7 years experience in an Advancement role at a non-profit organization with similar responsibilities. Proven success in increasing attendance and net funds through donor events and programs. At least 3 years experience with and proven success in philanthropic event planning. Proficiency in graphic arts and video-editing programs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience with Raisers Edge-BB/NXT, MS Office Suite, WordPress, CRM solutions and email marketing services.
