Technical Writer

Duration: 3 years

Clearance: Interim Secret clearance required to start

Work Schedule: Onsite at least 4 days per week, with 1 remote day

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer with expertise in developing technical documentation for engineering and fabrication environments. The ideal candidate will have experience creating assembly and test procedures, system-level documentation, and technical content that meets rigorous industry and government standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop comprehensive assembly and test procedures in collaboration with technicians, engineers, and program managers.
  2. Utilize photos, diagrams, and tables to enhance technical content.
  3. Maintain document configuration control and ensure documentation accuracy.
  4. Participate in project team meetings and reviews to gather requirements and provide documentation support.
  5. Assist with maintaining internal web pages and wikis and support the preparation of presentations and reports (including graphical content).
  6. Work with digital tools, including Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, to generate and manage documentation.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) with strong writing, copy-editing, and organizational skills.
  2. 5+ years of technical writing experience, including 3+ years focused on hardware documentation.
  3. Familiarity with modern documentation creation and management tools.
  4. Ability to multi-task, prioritize workloads, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced engineering environment.
  5. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint, and Project.

Preferred Qualifications:

Background in science, engineering, or technology.

Additional Information:

This is a highly technical role requiring close interaction with engineers and technicians. The selected candidate must have an Interim Secret clearance to start. Onsite work required at least 4 days per week due to the nature of the work.
