The Director of Communications & PR is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive external communications programs to support the External and Legislative Affairs and Wireline Transformation organizations. This role focuses on media relations and strategic communications planning to advance the company's public policy objectives and network transformation efforts. Key Roles and Responsibilities: Strategic Development and Execution: Develop and execute comprehensive communications programs that align with the company’s public policy goals at both federal and state levels. Create and implement communication strategies to support the company’s network transformation initiatives. Media Relations and Spokesperson Duties: Serve as the spokesperson for the company to the media. Provide executive-level counsel and support for media engagements and inquiries. Content Creation and Distribution: Develop, review, and distribute a variety of content, including speeches, scripts, press releases, messaging, media statements, and social media content, tailored for external and internal audiences. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams such as employee communications, public affairs, social media, and corporate social responsibility to ensure cohesive and effective communication strategies. Industry and Company Insight: Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends, company priorities, issues, and news to enhance communication planning and execution. Problem-Solving and Analysis: Work on complex problems requiring detailed analysis and innovative solutions, collaborating effectively with peers across business units. Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred. Required Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field. Extensive experience in media relations and issues management. Exceptional writing, editing, and organizational skills. Proven track record of advising senior leadership on key initiatives and providing strategic recommendations. Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment. Salary Range: Our Director Communications & PR earn between $143,800.00 - $215,800.00 USD Annual. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
