As an Associate Creative Director, you will report to the Group Creative Director of your client portfolio. You’ll lead teams of Art Directors, Copywriters and Designers to creatively solve client’s marketing communications needs, ensuring that solutions bring the strategy to life, successfully and on time. You will need to showcase an ability to work within teams, as well as demonstrate the independence and resourcefulness demanded by an agile and highly dynamic agency environment. A strong communicator, you are able to present and sell ideas internally and to clients with passion and energy. Critical Skills and Behaviors Has ultimate responsibility for the success of the Marketing Communication creative teams and the clients they serve. Provides broad oversight to all Marketing Communications projects moving through their client roster. Must have strong expertise in copywriting, with the ability to craft compelling messaging and provide clear guidance and feedback to copywriters to elevate the creative output. Ensures the team is consistently developing ideas and creative, from concept to execution, that deliver on a strategic framework. Is an expert in the creation of integrated marketing programs, including retail, in-store, digital, social and out-of-home channels. Experience in concepting and developing video and motion content, including online video, social content and broadcast. Leads the development of compelling presentation decks. Works with speed and agility while maintaining high quality through execution. Leadership With clients: Presents themselves as a trusted expert, collaborative partner and seamless extension of the client’s team. Demonstrates empathy for and prioritizes the client’s specific business objectives. Within the team: Plans for and mobilizes teams to deliver across various streams of work. Provides direction and guidance to team members to ensure efficient and high-quality delivery. Manages and supports in the growth and development of team members. Works with recruiting partners to staff a balanced team of full-time and freelance talent. Seeks best practices and ways to help improve processes. Partners with scheduling departments and operations teams to resource work and manage overhead costs. Within the broader agency: Acts as a confident consultant, extending subject matter expertise across the collective. Partners with the Leadership team to establish best practices, methods, and tools to be leveraged by the Marks collective. Collaboration and Culture Is a cultural ambassador and "lightening rod" for Marks. Upholds a culture that values teamwork over egos. Actively leads effective internal review meetings and team sessions. Leads by example – working constructively and demonstrating respect for each team, discipline, and business partner. Creates strong internal partnerships at every level, from Juniors to Senior Leaders, across the Marks agency at large. Lives and breathes marketing communications and design – gets excited to share and talk shop. Agility and Improvement Possesses an open mindset and is focused on continuous improvement. Organizational and analytical skills (including attention to detail). Minimum Requirements Diploma/Degree in an Advertising & Marketing program or related field. 8+ years of experience in marketing communications/advertising. Experience in leading teams and managing people. CPG and retail experience a plus. Well-rounded portfolio showcasing excellent understanding of different communication spaces, mediums and approaches. Fluent in iOS. Fluent in Keynote, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $120,000 - $130,000 annually. Ultimately, in determining pay, we will consider the successful candidate’s location, experience, and other job-related factors.
