Visual Designer (Graphic + 3D)

Location: Remote, but must be local to Cupertino

Duration: 12 months; potential to extend

Pay: up to $65/hour, DOE

Planet Interactive is looking for a Visual Designer (Graphic + 3D) to join our well-known Fortune 500 client on a 12 month contract. This role will be 40 hours per week and is remote but must be local to Cupertino, CA.

The Visual Designer will work closely with cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Production, Product Marketing, and Senior Management and possesses extraordinary visual and user interface design skills, as well as user-centered design principles.

Visual Designer Responsibilities

  • Design elegant, simple solutions that surprise and delight users.
  • Create work for channels such as branding, UI, visual design, presentations, 3D pieces, and more.
  • Deliver visual and graphic design work across a variety of platforms including iOS, TV and web.
  • Cross-functionally collaborate, debate and listen to design concepts, mockups, and production of visual assets.
  • Create experiences that influence the industry, as well as people’s lives.
  • Work across all services to bring an uncompromising level of quality to the look and feel of digital experiences and how they’re represented across platforms.
  • Conceptualize, design and implement visual elements and new experiences based on product requirements.
  • Develop and present design ideas in a large team environment.
  • Distill highly complex issues and translate them into clean, focused, understandable and systematic solutions.

Visual Designer Qualifications

  • 8+ years of work experience working at ad agencies, in-house design teams, enterprise portfolio.
  • An excellent online portfolio showcasing visual and graphic design.
  • A command of visual and communication design principles including typography and iconography.
  • Experience designing, maintaining and implementing design systems with precision from start to finish including the development process.
  • Ability to communicate design concepts through sketches, high-fidelity comps and/or prototypes.
  • Highly skilled in Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, Keynote and other design tools such as 3D software needed to bring your ideas to life.
  • Enthusiasm for an iterative design process, inspired by group critique.
  • Able to function independently and in a team environment, with excellent collaboration skills.
  • Previous experience working in branding, marketing and/or art direction is highly recommended.
  • A deep understanding of the design aesthetic, UI, and history.
