News Reporter Job at Daily Progress in Palatka

If you have top-notch news judgment, an insatiable curiosity about the world around you and love digging into documents to get the details of a story right, the Palatka Daily News wants you to join the team.

Located in Northeast Florida, the Daily News is seeking a reporter to round out its news staff. The legacy newspaper, founded in 1885, is the main source of local news for all of Putnam County and prints on-site, 3 days a week. That means reasonable daily deadlines and a great potential for a work-life balance.

Responsibilities:

1. Write a variety of hard and soft news articles.
2. Perform basic photography tasks.
3. Consistently meet deadlines and follow AP Style.
4. Post content to the web and social media.
5. Immerse yourself in the local community.

Qualifications:

1. At least two years of experience in journalism is desired, but all aspects of potential will be weighed.
2. Experience with Adobe products such as InDesign and Photoshop is a plus.
3. Must be willing to live in or near Putnam County.

Pay will be based on experience and above $30K. The benefits package includes paid vacation and major medical, plus more.
